The easiest way to explain why an underbase is needed is to think of an underbase like an undercoat that you’d use before painting. An underbase is a white ink which is printed first to give a neutral base for the colours to be printed on top, this ensures the colours are accurate & vibrant. An underbase is required when the garment colour is darker than the ink colour.
